Art with Mrs Jacques

This Term Room 10 had lots of fun in the Arts.

We all had a great time doing Drama.  We learnt to role play and how we can show expression on our faces and in our body language without having to make a noise.  We particularly enjoyed "Hot Seating", where we would take on the personality of a character after reading a story and then the class would ask the characters questions.  

During the second half of the term Room 10 continued the rotation and went to Mrs Jacques for painting.  We learnt all about primary and secondary colours and created our own colour wheel.  We then learnt how to mix and blend colours.

We learnt about Vincent Van Gogh and created our own masterpieces using Sunflowers and Starry, Starry night.  We use our mixing and blending skills as well as using sponging, painting and pointillism to get different techniques.

We can't wait to display our fantastic art!

Room 10 have been busy learning to use bossy verbs and writing instructions.
We learnt how to create a bouncy bunny and used our writing skills to write instructions on how to make the bunny.

Today we visited Rooms 4 and 5 and taught the Y0/1 students how to make a bouncy bunny.  We had a great time sharing our writing and helping them make their own bunny.

It was great to see so many faces at the meet the teacher evening.  I know that some of you couldn't make it or that you were splitting yourself among a few classroom, so feel free to email me with any questions.

Welcome to Room 10 2018!

We have been busy over the past few weeks getting to know each other and our peers in Year 3. 

We have learnt about the Treaty of Waitangi and created our own class treaty.
Over the year Room 10 will be working on adding their own posts on our blog.

I will add notices and important information on the sidebar so that it is always visible and easy to see.
